The annual Chicago Air and Water Show returns the weekend of August 16–17, 2025, running Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This iconic summer event draws thousands to the lakefront every year, showcasing incredible aerial stunts and water-based performances. For those eager to catch a sneak peek, practice flyovers will take place on Friday, August 15.
While the show can be seen from the shoreline between Fullerton Beach and Oak Street Beach, the best seat in the house is undoubtedly on your boat out on Lake Michigan. Watching from the water gives you an unbeatable view and an unforgettable experience—but boating on this busy weekend comes with its own set of responsibilities.
If you plan to anchor and swim, be sure to raise a skier-down flag whenever someone is in the water. This simple step alerts other boaters and helps prevent accidents in the crowded lake. It's also worth noting that the lake is often extremely wavy during the show. If you or your guests are prone to seasickness, be prepared with motion sickness patches or medication so the waves don’t ruin your day.
Before heading out, make sure your vessel is safe, legal, and fully equipped. That means checking your safety gear, flotation devices, flags, and all required equipment. Don’t leave it to chance—Water Werks has everything you need to stay compliant and confident on the water.
Visit www.waterwerks.com or stop by our store before the big weekend. Whether you need last-minute supplies, safety advice, or help getting your boat ready, our team has the knowledge and inventory to support you. And if you're looking to upgrade your ride or finally get out on the water, we have boats in stock and ready to go—just in time for the show.
Enjoy the show, stay safe, and we’ll see you on the water.
